Although the creator of the “The Atkins Diet”, Dr. Robert Atkins died on Apr. 17, 2003 many people continue to use his weight loss system to shed the pounds. The Atkins diet is a low-carb diet focused on having its practitioners consume protein and fiber supplemented by vitamins. The diet has 4 distinct phases through which weight may be lost and then target weights maintained. Craig William Taylor resident of Vacaville, California has used this diet to not only lose weight but keep the weight off for multiple months. The 4 Atkins phases include Induction, On-going weight loss, Pre-maintenance and Maintenance.
